Join us in Hoswick
This popular, informal event is a lovely way to round off a busy week, with Katie and family hosting woolweekers, locals and tutors in the interesting surroundings of Hoswick Visitor Centre.
Peruse the local history displays – the building used to be Hoswick’s weaving shed – and browse the craft shop (card payments welcome). Less than 100 metres away, the Nielanell studio will also be open 10am-4pm; we’re open daily during Shetland Wool Week).
Getting here by car
- Hoswick is located between Lerwick and Sumburgh Airport, and is around 20 mins drive from each (you might take longer if you stop to admire the views).
- There’s plenty of parking at Hoswick Visitor Centre, where you’ll also find an EV charging point.
Public transport
From Lerwick, it’s a straightforward bus journey:
- Take the no. 6 (Lerwick-Sumburgh route) to Sandwick Bakery. You can tell the driver where you are going.
- The bus journey is around 30 mins to Sandwick.
- Then it’s a short walk (700m/10 mins) to Hoswick Visitor Centre.
